Important Notes :
  • The "Iron Butt" Starts & Ends: Days 1, 2, 13, 14, and 15 are heavy highway hauls. Ensure you have high-speed stability and comfort gear for these long stretches.
  • The Hill Pace: Don't let the low kilometres in Uttarakhand (Days 5–12) fool you. A 150 km ride in the mountains can take as long as a 500 km ride on the plains due to winding roads, landslides, or traffic.
  • Mana Pass Note: Reaching the actual Mana Pass (the border) requires special permits from the SDM in Joshimath and the Army. Most tourists visit Mana Village; if you intend to go all the way to the Pass, factor in a half-day just for paperwork.
  • Buffer Days: With a 5,000 km trip, I highly recommend adding 1–2 "buffer days" in case of rain, bike maintenance, or just plain exhaustion.
